Description: |
Responsible for performing chemical, hemotology, urinalysis, microbiology, and blood bank analysis and related techniques for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. |
Requirements: |
MLT - Associate degree in medical technology or 60 hours of college training with 24 hours in bacteriology, medical technology, immunology, urology, or any combination.
- a baccalaureate degree with 24 semester hours in bacteriology, medical technology, immunology, urology, zoology, chemistry, mycology, or microbiology or any combination of the above course work.
- Satisfactory completion of a one year program in medical laboratory technology at an accredited vocational-technical school.
Medical Technologist - Bachelor of Science degree required. 3-6 months training to become proficient in duties. Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists recommended. Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist Louisiana State license or eligible for licensure required. |
